Five languages, one day on campus, for DCU
Dublin City University asked us for a short film to sell a degree that covers five languages, at a time when intake had fallen and AI was seen as a threat to language learning. We filmed graduates and students on the Glasnevin campus on 22 January 2026, each with a line in a different language, and the final film was signed off in March.

- One shoot day, a 71-second film
What they needed
DCU’s Communications team wanted a short film for a language degree covering five languages. It had to sell study abroad and careers, and show the course as learning a culture as well as a language.
What we filmed
One full day on campus: two graduates now working in industry and three current students, each speaking a line in Japanese, French, Spanish, German or Chinese, then students and lecturers at work in the language lab.
Subtitles that work twice
Every spoken line carries English subtitles and subtitles in the speaker’s own language, written for accessibility and checked by DCU before sign-off.
What we delivered
- One full shoot day on campus
- A 71-second course film
- Subtitles in English and five languages
- Two short social versions
- Name cards and branded titles
- Masters in 4K, 1080p and 720p
