Twenty-five years of Tuar Ard, in its own people’s words

Tuar Ard Arts Centre in Moate, Co. Westmeath, turned 25 in 2025 and wanted a film for the celebrations that felt polished and hopeful. We interviewed fourteen people and pairs from the centre’s life in one day in September, and the film premiered at the anniversary celebrations in October.

When

Where
Tuar Ard Arts Centre, Moate
Length
An eight-minute film

What they needed

An anniversary film with real warmth and a sense of what’s next, good enough to premiere in the centre’s own theatre, with a place for everyone the centre asked to include.

What we filmed

One day of interviews and supporting shots at the centre: staff past and present, the board, the sound and lighting engineer, a choir director, workshop leaders and audience members. We wrote the questions and the structure, and the centre supplied archive photos.

Nobody left out

The film was planned at five minutes. To keep every voice in, it grew to eight, at no extra cost to the centre.

  • Interview questions and structure
